The BGX-4850 breaks the mold of traditional in-wall subwoofers, producing very natural, vibration-free bass from a design that blends harmoniously with any room décor. Incorporating THX Balanced Bass-line™ technology, the BGX-4850 is engineered from the ground-up to deliver THX Ultra2 quality and performance.
The BGX-4850 system consists of four bass modules and a 2-channel amplifier. Each module features 12 micro-precision woofers housed within their own enclosures and arranged in balanced pairs. The result? Even with more than 2,000 watts of power, this system delivers pitch-perfect bass without shaking the walls or furniture loose.
THX designed the BGX-4850 to be heard rather than seen. The four modules have a total radiating area equal to two 18 inch drivers, yet fit completely inside a standard 2x4-inch stud-wall. The listener only sees a slim grille, 26.5 inches high and just 7 inches wide per module, or a 15 inch grille if desired. And, no separate back-box is required for installation or proper performance, meaning each module can be mounted in the floor or ceiling, inside a piece of furniture, behind or under furniture, or indeed anywhere you can find room to place it.
